What We See in Chesterfield Homes
Much of Chesterfield's housing was built in the late 1970s through the 1990s, with larger homes that often have two or three fireplaces, a mix of wood-burning masonry and gas units, and finished lower levels. At 30 to 45 years old, the original chimneys, crowns, and flue liners in these homes are reaching the age where problems show up.
Common problems we find in Chesterfield
- Homes with multiple fireplaces where only one has been maintained
- Original flue liners and crowns at the 30 to 45 year mark
- Gas inserts added to masonry fireplaces without a dedicated liner
- Large duct systems with multiple returns and furnaces that collect dust
