What We See in O'Fallon Homes
Most O'Fallon homes are newer than the metro average. Much of the city was built from the 1990s on, in subdivisions with factory-built (prefabricated) fireplaces, direct-vent gas fireplaces, and gas log sets rather than traditional masonry chimneys. Those systems have their own needs: manufacturer clearances, intact chase covers, sealed vent connections, and gas components that are cleaned and checked, not just swept.
Common problems we find in O'Fallon
- Rusted or leaking chase covers on factory-built chimneys, a common source of water stains on ceilings near the fireplace
- Gas fireplaces and log sets that have not been cleaned or checked since the home was built
- Dryer vents run long distances through finished basements and second-floor laundry rooms, where lint builds up fast
- Builder-grade ductwork collecting construction dust years after move-in
