Why We Use a Truck-Mounted Vac for Air Ducts & Commercial Vents
How negative pressure cleaning works, and why the debris ends up in the truck instead of your home.
What a Truck-Mounted Vacuum Does
Our truck-mounted vacuum is a powerful vacuum system built into the service truck. A large hose runs from the truck to the duct system or vent run and puts it under negative pressure, meaning air and debris are pulled toward the truck. As our technicians loosen dust and debris with brushes and air tools, the vacuum carries it out of the building and into a collection system on the truck.
We use the truck-mounted vac for air duct cleaning and for commercial dryer and exhaust vents. It is not used for chimney sweeping, which has its own tools and process.
Why It Matters for Air Duct Cleaning
- Debris leaves the home. Dust and debris are pulled out to the truck instead of being stirred up and left behind.
- The whole system is cleaned. Negative pressure helps clean supply and return runs, not just the registers.
- Strong, steady suction. Truck-mounted systems pull more air than most portable units, which helps on long or complex duct systems.
Why It Matters for Commercial Vents
Commercial dryer and exhaust vents at apartments, laundromats, hotels, and other businesses often run long distances through walls and roofs. The truck-mounted vac pulls lint and debris out of those runs and away from hallways, units, and rooftops. See our commercial vent cleaning page for details.
What to Expect on Service Day
- We park the truck as close as practical to the building and run the hose inside.
- Registers and openings are sealed so the system stays under negative pressure.
- Technicians work through each run with brushes and air tools.
- We clean accessible HVAC components, restore registers, and walk you through the results.
